WHO WE ARE
The Books and Words Group is not a writers group nor is it a book group but rather an association of lovers of writing and reading, and words of all sorts of guises. Its program of literary events reflects this diversity and brings to our area opportunities to see shows and discuss things beyond football and cricket (though some members are tragics about both as well as book lovers).
The events take place at a variety of venues around the district and at differing times and days according to the type of occasion.
There have been author talks, discussions of novels over dinner at a restaurant opened especially for us, writing workshops, a debate by celebrities, a quiz night, poetry readings, musicals, pantomimes, drama performances and readings.

Bookings for most Books and Words Group events are made via Yankalilla Bay Visitor Information Centre by phone or in person or on line.
Becoming a financial member of the group will ensure early advice of what’s happening and receipt of our monthly newsletter.
Members are invited to submit a review of any of our events on [email protected]
Reviews will be added to the website at the discretion of the BWG committee and the best may be published in our monthly newsletter. We will interpret that your sending a review gives us permission to use it in this way.
We welcome you to as many occasions that you choose to attend, guarantee you a friendly lively group and invite you to be actively involved or just sit back and enjoy.
