Fleurieu Writers Competition 2025
Books and Words Group, in conjunction with Festival Fleurieu 2025, are pleased to announce the inaugural Fleurieu Writers Competition 2025.
Entries are invited for two categories:
- Short Story - with a maximum of 2000 words
- Poetry - up to 40 lines.
Entries are open to Fleurieu residents 16 years and over, and are to be submitted by 28th February 2025 to Books and Words Group.
Entry is free.
You may enter one or both categories, and multiple entries are permitted in each category.
Winners will be announced and prizes during Festival Fleurieu 2025.
Looking ahead, it is hoped this will be the inaugural competition of a bi-annual prize to be awarded during Festival Fleurieu.

Books and Words Group aims to encourage readers, writers, and lovers of words to engage with activities aimed at exploring a range of literary events in supportive community environments. We think we are doing this but are always appreciative of suggestions and constructive comments about the activities we organise and sponsor. Members are kept up to date about a range of activities in the community through a regular newsletter (The Scribe) and discounts to members are made available where possible.
