Many delightful works in the classical repertoire are based on folk stories and fairy tales. Colin’s program will include excerpts from a number of well-known compositions including two of Tchaikovsky’s ballets, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, Grieg’s Peer Gynt, and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Dukas. He will talk about the origins and significance of the tales which inspired the music.
